Ярослав Дашкевич

The collection contains 55 articles, essays and memoirs of the famous historian, political prisoner and public figure, professor Yaroslav Dashkevych (1926-2010). Presented works cover a wide range of research in the categories of the continuity of the Ukrainian tradition – from the Eastern Slavs (paganism) to the modern phenomena of independence. Professor Yaroslav Dashkevych focuses on the genesis and historical development of Ukrainian Christianity (Orthodox and Greek Catholics) in close connection with other denominations and religions – monophysites (Armenians), Roman Catholics (Poles, Germans, Hungarians and Lithuanians), as well as Jews, Muslims and Buddhists. The peculiarity of the creative work of the researcher is the consideration of cultural and religious phenomena in the global civilization context and, at the same time, within the framework of wider processes of state formation and nation-building in the Ukrainian lands.
For anyone interested in the cultural and religious history of Ukraine.
